AMT Tuning's ECU calibration package for the 2023+ Range Rover Sport L460 P400 3.0T MHEV is designed to improve power delivery, torque, throttle response and overall drivability while retaining the factory engine protection strategies required for reliable operation.

The Bosch MG1CS028 engine ECU used on this application is factory locked and requires an initial ECU unlock before performance software can be programmed.

The ECU must be removed from the vehicle and shipped to AMT Tuning for the initial unlock and programming process.

Stage 2 vehicles are calibrated according to the actual hardware installed rather than using one universal calibration.

STAGE 1 - PERFORMANCE ECU SOFTWARE

Stage 1 is designed for stock vehicles or Range Rover Sport P400 models with mild bolt-on modifications.

The calibration may include optimization of:

• Engine torque targets
• Load and boost control
• Ignition calibration
• Fuel calibration
• Throttle response
• Accelerator response
• Torque limiters
• Engine intervention strategies
• Power delivery throughout the usable RPM range

Factory knock control, lambda control, temperature protection and other important engine protection strategies are retained and recalibrated as required.

• Cat-back exhaust

No internal engine modifications are required.

STAGE 2 - PERFORMANCE ECU SOFTWARE

Stage 2 is intended for vehicles equipped with additional intake and exhaust-flow modifications beyond a standard Stage 1 configuration.

The calibration is prepared according to the vehicle's actual hardware setup and may include additional optimization of:

• Boost targets
• Load targets
• Engine torque targets
• Fuel delivery
• Ignition timing
• Torque limiters
• Exhaust-related strategies
• Throttle and accelerator response

Typical Stage 2 Hardware

Stage 2 may be suitable for vehicles equipped with:

• Upgraded intake system
• Performance exhaust
• High-flow exhaust components
• Downpipe / catalyst-related hardware modifications
• Other supporting airflow modifications

Please provide the complete vehicle hardware list when ordering Stage 2 so the calibration can be prepared correctly.

Stage 2 Upgrade Price

Stage 2 upgrade from Stage 1: +$300 USD

Customers who already have an AMT Stage 1 calibration do not need to purchase the complete tuning and ECU unlock package again.

If the ECU has already been unlocked and the vehicle is already running AMT Stage 1 software, the calibration can be upgraded to Stage 2 for the difference between the tuning levels.

Availability of individual options depends on the exact ECU software version and vehicle configuration.

Emissions-Related Options

DECAT, OPF and other emissions-related calibration options are intended only for off-road or motorsport applications where legally permitted.

The customer is responsible for ensuring the vehicle complies with all applicable local emissions, noise and road-use regulations.

ECU UNLOCK - INCLUDED

The Bosch MG1CS028 ECU used on this vehicle requires an initial unlock before performance calibration can be installed.

The required initial ECU unlock is included with the complete tuning package.

The ECU must be removed from the vehicle and shipped to AMT Tuning.

The ECU should be sent complete and unopened.

Do not open, modify or attempt an unsupported ECU unlock before sending the unit to AMT Tuning.

If the ECU has previously been opened, unlocked, repaired or modified, please contact us before shipping it.

ECU PROGRAMMING PROCESS

1. Place your order and provide the vehicle information.
2. Remove the engine ECU from the vehicle.
3. Package the complete ECU securely.
4. Ship the ECU to AMT Tuning.
5. The ECU is inspected and the required unlock procedure is completed.
6. The selected Stage 1 or Stage 2 calibration is programmed.
7. The ECU is checked and prepared for return shipment.
8. Reinstall the ECU and perform the appropriate vehicle checks before operation.

Programming method may vary according to the exact ECU hardware and software version.

SHIPPING THE ECU

Protect the ECU with sufficient padding and place it in a strong shipping box.

The ECU must not be able to move freely inside the package.

We recommend using a reliable tracked and insured carrier such as UPS, FedEx or DHL.

A second ECU unlock charge is not normally required if the same ECU remains unlocked and has not been overwritten or relocked by a dealer software update or other programming procedure.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

ECU compatibility and the exact programming procedure are confirmed according to the ECU hardware and software installed in the vehicle.

Do not schedule vehicle work around a fixed completion date unless turnaround has been specifically confirmed by AMT Tuning.

Dealer ECU software updates or reprogramming may overwrite or relock previously modified ECU software. If this occurs, an additional unlock procedure may be required.
